Nice! It definitely feels different, having a car loan and then not having one. It's just like, "Holy shit, it's actually over!"

Totally. Part of me just wants to make the last few payments now and get it over, but then I realize that the interest penalty on just waiting it out is so small it makes more sense to keep doing payments.
It is time for you to take that extra monthly income and buy a track car!

Oh I've already got a new one, that was the main motivation in paying this thing off

See it was different for me, because I had 6k left on it before I bought my FiST, and threw down 4k on it to get a lot of it out of the way, I wouldn't have had to make a payment until summer 2015, but that interest would have accumulated way up, so I had some extra money in savings and just killed off the loan.
I've already got a track car! I got a 944, just need to fix, uhh, everything on it haha.

Nice, 3 years early isn't bad at all.

Part of me secretly wishes that the dark side of this story is that you got a divorce and used the settlement to pay it off.

I've already got one, picked it up back in April, that was the main motivation to just paying off the older loan

Right on. Right now, we just rock my old Cavalier, but it's getting quite a bit older. We're planning on keeping the Cavalier and getting my Fiancee a Lolvo C30 probably in the spring. Can't wait.

Haha so true. We actually paid my wife's car off very early (it's a 2013) due to my inheritance from my grandfather being issued to me. My favorite thing is having that extra $350 a month! Really helped us out of a tight spot since I lost my job in April. The payment was killing us.

I feel your pain, back when my wife and I first got married we were driving around in her 1998 Cavalier, I hated that freaking thing. But that Volvo will be nice, especially going up from a Cavalier

Well, I began training to be an auto damage adjuster for an insurance company, but I didn't score highly enough on their preliminary training quizzes. So, they let me go rather abruptly. I'm going back to work on the 2nd of September at a local bank's mortgage servicing center. It isn't the most glamorous job, but it will do.
